Dr Nick Gore is a Clinical Psychologist and Senior Researcher in Learning (Intellectual) Disability from Tizard Centre, University of Kent, UK. He has helped to develop and drive forward a number of initiatives in the field of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS).
This workshop will support those who operate in supervisory, managerial or other co-coordinator roles to implement PBS in practice.
The workshop will provide an overview of the key components of a PBS framework and invite participants to take part in a series of active exercises to explore PBS processes, including Functional Assessment and Behaviour Support Planning. The workshop will also cover ways to develop and embed PBS at a systems level, drawing on tools and approaches developed in the UK but with consideration of an Australian and local context. A flexible approach will be taken to help build on the prior knowledge, needs and aspirations of those who attend to support their future use of PBS.
